QSTM™ includes mechatronic sensing devices for the clinician to use for diverse soft tissue manual therapy applications throughout the human body. One device is for applying and sensing localized forces in smaller, discrete regions (e.g., finger, elbow; small areas; small animals); we call it Q1. And another, we call Q3, is for discrete force applications (e.g., finger, toes, smaller animals).

Each device has a steel, contoured treatment edge (tip or blade) and a casing handle gripper that houses the internal electronic components. The design criteria include accuracy, sensitivity, ergonomics, maneuverability, portability, durability, marketability, cost, and design concept expansion.
